Artist Biography

David is a visual artist from Virginia Beach, VA, now residing in Washington DC. He regards art as a personal journey into one’s spirit and imagination. At an early age, he gained attention of family and peers with his God given ability to draw. He attended Hampton University where he crossed Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising. David started sharing his works in Charlotte, NC, where he resided several years prior to moving to Washington. His paintings have been featured on walls of local galleries and notable museums in Charlotte such as the Harvey B. Gantt Center, and on the walls of schools in New Haven, CT, Washington DC, and Charlotte, NC. He has participated in and has earned awards at several juried art shows and has auctioned off several original works for worthy causes such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Links Inc. College Scholarship Fund. Since relocating to Washington DC, he has earned several accolades, including the 2020 winner of the DGS Percent for the Arts International Artist Grant for CW Harris Elementary 2-D public art project.
