Blue and green-toned abstract surrealist painting by Terry Moore. The piece depicts a tomb possibly of Isidore Ducasse Lautréamont, one of Surrealism's literary precursors. A large winged Grecian male statue with horns stands on top of a pedestal with the name "Lautréamont." The grave stands against a serene background with lush green trees. Signed and dated by the artist at the bottom right. Framed in a beautiful gold frame. Isidore Ducasse Lautréamont. He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He was the first of Surrealism's literary precursors. He wrote under the name Comte de Lautréamont. In 1870, he published a volume of poetry, "Poésies." He is best known for his other work, "Les Chants de Maldoror," a nightmarish poem replete with grotesque, often erotic, imagery. He died in Paris, France and
