Artist Biography
Born on August 4, 1924 in Newark, NJ, he attended Rutgers University before serving in the U.S. Army’s Mountain Division Ski Troop during World War II. Hollander had a successful career as a documentary filmmaker throughout the 1950s. In 1960, he decided to focus on painting after becoming friend with Abstract Expressionist painters at the Cedar Tavern. He died at the age of 91 on August 27, 2015 in Newport Beach, CA.
