Artist Biography
Arnold Belkin was a Canadian born artist. He studied at the Vancouver School of Art and started drawing and painting at a young age. He discovered artist like Diego Rivera and his style of art evolved into a more Mexican influenced style. At the Vancouver School of Art he won a competition for his painting "Workers on a Streetcar." After high school, Belkin moved to Mexico and entered la Esmeralda School of Painting and Engraving. He started as a mural artist working under David Alfaro Siqueiros. Some of his murals are at the Hotel Continental Hilton in Mexico City, Xalapa and in Cuernavaca. In the United States his murals are located in New York at Hell's Kitchen, Dumont High School in New Jersey. His canvas works are located in the United States, Venezuela, Colombia and Cuba.
