Naturalistic Dutch canal cityscape featuring classic Dutch architecture as well as gondolas. The canvas is framed in a gold and black frame. The work is signed in the bottom corner and attached to the frame is a nameplate with the artist signed name.

Berend Jan Brouwer was a Dutch painter who was born in 1872. He painted using oil paint on canvas and was known for painting naturalistic landscapes and cityscapes. He died in 1939.
