Homi B. Patel was born in 1928 in India. A student of the J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, Homi Patel was born in the city in 1928. Along with his contemporaries, K. Ambadas, Apollinario D'Souza and S.G. Nikam, Patel formed a set that promoted a rigid adherence to the nonrepresentational and abstract interpretation of art. Homi Patel’s works remained true to that commitment through his career.
