Artist Biography

Sara Sosnowy was born in Texas City in 1957. She received her MFA from Pratt Institute in 1989 and her BFA from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her career consist of her exploration of representation and abstraction of her studied subjects. She is know for her repetition of forms like famous artist Frank Stella. Her work has been collected by The Museum of Modern Art, The National Gallery of Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery. Her solo exhibits include the Lesley Heller Gallery in New York, Zolla/Lieberman Gallery located in Chicago, IL; John Weber Gallery in New York; Barbara Davis Gallery in Houston, TX; The Museum of East Texas located in Lufkin, TX; and SFA Gallery, Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, TX.
