Artist Biography
Born in 1945 in Sierra Hermosa, Zacatecas, Juan Manuel de la Rosa studied at the atelier of Art at the University of Nuevo Leon in 1962 . Two years later he entered the School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving La Esmeralda National Institute of Fine Arts. Upon completion in 1969, he moved to the University of Guanajuato. Painter , printmaker , ceramist and paper maker , De la Rosa has made throughout his career specialized studies on different processing techniques handmade paper in countries like Egypt , United States and Japan. He has also taught courses in this specialty in different institutions in several countries.
