Pair of brown and blue abstract serigraphs. The first one is titled, "You Do Not Play Things as They Are". The second one is titled "Because You Play a Blue Guitar". Both are done in the same year and are the same size. They are framed in a silver frame with a brown matte.
Artist Biography
Frances Clark Nail was born in Memphis, Texas in 1924. She was the youngest child and her nickname was Tootsie. She grew up during the great depression and knew the struggles that it brought upon her family and the world around her. She grew up to be a artist and a writer. She studied journalism and art at Texas Tech and would of earned her degree if she passed French. She worked at an air field during World War II. After the war she married Paul and they moved to Houston, Texas after he finished his degree in 1948. She had two daughters. They owned a beach house on Galveston Island than moved to Austin in 1979 and owned a house on Lake Travis. She published four books and was often invited to book clubs. She lived the rest of her life in Austin, Texas until she died in 2013.
