Artist Statement

"Most of my life has been lived in structured environments, whether school, military service, or the business world. My current interest in painting, and in particular abstract painting, is something I’m exploring that’s totally different from my past pursuits. My early works were representational. As I’ve progressed, the paintings have evolved to a looser and more abstract style and my current work explores pure abstraction. The unstructured nature of abstract painting gives me the freedom to explore my creative self."
