About
Biobject creates, manufactures and distributes high quality contemporary furniture for offices, hotels, homes. The company was founded in 1970 by Jean-Pierre Mesmin. Trained at Ecole Boulle in Paris, he knew how to constantly match market trends, choosing stainless steel, chromed or lacquered pieces when it was into fashion in the 1970s, a neoclassical style in the 1980s, then an offer of ethnic-chic high end furniture, as well as a collection of marquetry and burrs in the 1990s, and years of 2000. A turn was taken with much more contemporary drawings, circa 2005. Materials were chosen to respond to architects and end clients expectations: solid oak, concrete, stainless steel wires, technical textiles... Since 2010, Biobject has sped up its development: a real design studio has been created, the workshops have been moved to a new location, the showroom has been extended, and several brands are now distributed.
