Impressionist seascape painted using a pallet knife. The layering of the paint creates a nice illusion of depth to the painting. Small scale painting framed in a nice wood frame. Artist signed his worked in the bottom right corner.

Artist Biography

Jim Rabby is a native of Houston, Texas. He had polio as a child and while he was in Shrine Hospital he was given art supplies after expressing his interest in art. He has been painting since the 1960’s. He lived in Santa Fe in mid 1980’s where he worked as an artist. He is known for his loose impressionist style similar to known artist like Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet. He uses oils and applies them to a handmade canvas using a palette knife which creates an interesting layered and textured piece.
