Black and white cubist pen drawing with light orange accents by Italian artist Angelo Canevari. Drawing upon the visual language of Cubism, Canevari's loose lines and jumbled body parts invoke the work of artists such as Picasso and Duchamp. Titled "La Morte del Ragione," this work likely references Francisco Goya's iconic etching "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters." Signed, titled, and dated along front lower margin. Currently hung in a gold frame with complementary green matting.

Angelo Canevari (1930-2014) is an Italian sculptor and painter who comes from a long lineage of artists. He has been commissioned several times by the Vatican, including the Bronze Doors of the Cathedral of Belluno and the Vatican Coins. Inspired by classical themes, Canevari draws upon ancient mythology and literature for his imagery.
