Early ceramic reproduction of a Tang Dynasty horse sculpture. During the Tang Dynasty, horses were a precious import and therefore became an emblem of wealth and power. Because of this, they were a common motif in tomb figures. This piece features a lustrous mane and tail, an elegant saddle, and detailed harness embellishments.
