About
Print on porcelain of The Great Hall of Bulls from the Lascaux Caves in southwestern France. Estimated to be around 17,000 years old, the cave features typical local contemporary wildlife that corresponds with the fossil record of the Upper Paleolithic in the area. This work is likely a commemorative plaque from the opening of Lascaux II, an exact copy of the Great Hall of the Bulls and the Painted Gallery opened in 1983 to help preserve the original cave paintings.
