Modern colorful mixed media abstract painting by Houston based artist Frank X. Tolbert II. The work features a white airplane circling the Earth with lines labeling Galveston, TX and Berlin, Germany. Likely part of his 1999 exhibition at The M.A.C. titled "Berlin / Paris / Texas." Signed and dated in front lower right corner. Currently hung behind glass in a clean black frame.

Artist Biography

Son of Texas journalist and historian Joseph Francis Tolbert-Cook, better now as Frank X. Tolbert, Frank X. Tolbert II as born in 1945 in Washington D.C. Now an artist working and living in Houston, TX, Frank X. Tolbert II attended Texas Tech University and North Texas State University through the 1960s and early 1970s. He has since shown in many galleries across the state and his work is in various museum collections, including but not limited to the Dallas Museum of Art, the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art, the San Antonia Museum of Art, and the Houston Museum of Fine Art.
