About
Abstract figurative painting by contemporary Houston-based artist Ramon Severino. The work is heavily referential of Jacques-Louis David's iconic Neoclassical painting "Napoleon Crossing the Alps" that features the titular Napoleon on a rearing horse making his way through the Great St. Bernard Pass. Severino's interpretation is decidedly more urban, featuring sky scrappers in the background and a central figure wearing sneakers and a baseball cap pointing to the word "conquer" in the upper left corner. Currently unframed, but options are available.
