Artist Biography

Oliver Clare was born in 1853 and lives most of his life in Birmingham. He was the son of still life painter George Clare who during the Victorian era specialized in painting still life and flower paintings. His work has been exhibited in the Royal Society of Artist, the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, as well as the Walker Art Gallery and Manchester City Art Gallery. He was also commissioned by Health Food Stores to paint still lives for postcards and posters.
