Contemporary blue and yellow geometric abstract painting by Venezuelan artist Subero Oswaldo. The work features hard-edge linear shapes in an optical illusion pattern. Signed in the front lower right corner as well as signed, titled, and dated on the reverse. Currently hung in a clean black frame.

Subero Oswaldo (Caracas, 1934-2016) Oswaldo Subero was a Venezuelan painter and sculptor. He studied at the School of Applied Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In 1966 he returned to Venezuela where he became director of the Cumana School of Plastic Arts. In 1970 he traveled to France and took Frank Popper's arts courses at Vincennes University. In 1980 he participated in the XXXIX Venice Biennale. He also participated in many collective exhibitions: “Latin-American Painters” at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Milan in 1963, in the “fifth exhibition of figurative art of Rome and Lazio” in Rome in 1965, “Grands et Jeunes genesis and development” in 1979, at the Havana Biennial in 1984 and at the VII San Juan Biennial of Latin and Caribbean engraving in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1986. His works are characterized by rigorous geometry and abstraction structural, in which the geometric shapes relate to the background, simulating fake reliefs and inverted shapes in sculptural objects. His works vary based on the format of the support, recreating visual tensions through the relationships between shapes, colors, lines, lights and shadows.
