Contemporary monochromatic still life painting by Texas artist Rachel Hecker. The work features a close up composition of a coffee cup and a drinking glass realistically rendered in a single shade of red. The stretcher for this piece was custom made and features an intentional indention along the left side of the work. The work retains the original gallery label on the reverse.

Artist Biography

Rachel Hecker has received extensive critical attention and has exhibited widely, including one-person exhibitions at the Dallas Museum of Art, Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston, and Art Pace, San Antonio. Her work is represented in many public collections including of the Dallas Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She has completed public commissions for the Federal Reserve Bank and The General Services Administration, and her work for civic arts projects earned her an American Institute of Architects Artist Award. She was the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Award in Painting, and a 2006 Artadia Artist Award.
