Artist Biography
Craig Lesser was born in 1955 and grew up in Houston, Texas. He studied art at the University of Houston, graduating in 1978. His work was included in the 1985 "Fresh Paint" show at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and he was represented by Meredith Long Galleries, with his first solo show being at the gallery in 1985. His painting style could be called a combination of abstract and figurative images. He liked bright colors and mixed media (watercolor, oil crayons, markers, wax crayons). He said "Art releases us from what we know and offers us the next breath of our spiritual life." Lesser passes away in 1989.
