Teal and tan woven fiber art tapestry by Texas artist Romeo Reyna. The piece features a central diamond shape with copper accents and painted wooden sticks running horizontally over the front of the work. The tag from where the piece was originally purchased in Lubbock, TX is still attached.
Artist Biography
Romeo Reyna was born in the Rio Grande Valley in 1935 and attended the Chicago Art Institute, Los Angeles Art Center and the Otis Art Institute. Reyna is known internationally for his large tapestries which are handwoven on upright American Indian looms. Romeo Reyna worked through Arthur Elrod Associates, Inc. of Palm Springs, CA and did many large commissions for hotels and corporations. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 80.
