Artist's Biography

Arthur Turner was born in Houston, Texas in 1940. He still works and lives in Houston. He received his B.A from Nother Texas State University in Denton, Texas. Later in 1966 he earned his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Awards include: First Award, Clear Lake Arts Alliance Exhibition, Houston, Texas, 2000 Travel grant from Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas, 1992 Selected for Outstanding Educator of America Awards Program, 1973 First Award, Corpus Christi Art Foundation Annual Exhibition, Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas, 1973 First Purchase Award, Beaumont Art Museum, 20th Annual Exhibition, 1971 Purchase Prize, 22nd Annual Texas Watercolor Society Exhibition, San Antonio, TX, 1971
