From the artist: From Mexican traditions to the world, we all honor the departure of our beloved ones on a special day. Where I grew up, in Mexico, things get interesting every year on Nov 1st and 2nd for The celebration of the Day of the Dead. It's a wonderful feeling being united in grief and love for a holiday where customs, altars, traditional food and even legends were created to give rise to the day of the dead. ''La Catrina'' (Male version, El Catrin) is a characteristic figure to be reborn in anyone who opts to paint their face with a skull for work, school or even to hit the bars and party... My Collection of skulls is another way to reborn La Catrina I get to channel as a proud Mexican artist. It is important to mention that The Catrina is a characteristic figure born from the representation of the Mexican artist José Guadalupe Posada, who made a drawing over 100 years ago of Mictecacíhuatl, The Lady of the Precinct of The Dead and who has become the highest representation of the Day of the Dead at a National and International Level.
